meet the chaplains

chaplain
Fr Paul Keane
I am a priest of the Diocese of Brentwood (Essex and East London) and have been the Catholic Chaplain to the University of Cambridge since 2022. Born and raised in London, I read History at Peterhouse, and trained for the priesthood in Rome at the Venerable English College. Having been a curate, a parish priest, and vice-rector of a seminary, it is a privilege to be the chaplain and live at Fisher House. I look forward to meeting you!

assistant chaplain
Sr Charlotte Cummins CJ
Born into an Irish Catholic family in northwest England, I have been involved in the life of the Church for as long as I can remember. As a teenager, I ran a parish music group, was part of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, and started to go on pilgrimage to Lourdes (a place which continues to be a draw for me). I read Theology at Oxford and was a member of Cathsoc throughout my time there. I then started to teach at a Catholic Independent School where I was also boarding housemistress, then Head of Sixth Form, and, eventually, Senior Deputy Head. I left that role in 2020 and entered the Congregation of Jesus, just as lockdown began! Having completed my two-year noviciate in Vienna, I made first vows in 2024. I am trained in spiritual direction and retreat giving and am delighted to be a Chaplain at Fisher House.

chaplain
Fr Albert Robertson op
I was born in Surrey and went to university in London and Oxford. After a period of time preparing for Anglican ministry, I became a Catholic and, a couple of years later, entered the Order of Preachers. I studied at Blackfriars, the Dominican study house in Oxford. After ordination to the priesthood I spent time as a university chaplain at the University of Edinburgh, assigned to the Dominican community there.

assistant chaplain
Mr Jack Ryan
I come from just outside Southampton and am a seminarian for the Diocese of Portsmouth. For the past five years I have been studying at the Venerable English College in Rome, completing two years of philosophy with the Dominicans in the City before graduating in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone during my time at Fisher House!
